Having worked online with clients from all over the UK, it is clear to me that they really appreciate being able to access therapy at a time and from a place that suits them, rather than having to go to a specific office at a specific time each week. They find it helps them settle more easily and start to make progress more quickly.
About me and my practice
I am an Integrative Therapist, which means I am qualified in several different ways of working so that I can choose which one is best for you and your situation; and sometimes this means choosing several methodologies for the same person/people over time.
I work with individual people, couples / polyamorous relationships, and family situations in order to get to the heart of what is causing difficulty so that we can resolve it.
My qualifications include CBT, DBT, Transactional Analysis and NLP.
My areas of expertise include children and families, couples, narcissistic relationships, trauma including PTSD, grief and issues that co-occur with all of these things like anxiety, depression, stress and anger management/over-reactivity.
I use an educational approach, which means that I not only use the counselling skills I have to help you, but I also teach you the reasons behind them and how to use them for yourself, so that by the end of the therapy, I have passed the knowledge and skill onto you so that you carry it with you into the future.
Experience
I qualified as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist initially in 2011 and have been working in private practice ever since.
Prior to my Counselling qualifications, however, I also worked in the public/voluntary sectors for ten years and then running my own businesses for ten years, so I have a breadth of knowledge and experience in those areas of work also.
I also have my own experience with trauma/PTSD, chronic pain and reducing use of opioid medication that is becoming a hindrance rather than help to so many people these days.
In my personal life I have been married for 34 years to someone who has spent a lot of time away, so I know how difficult and stressful relationships can be, but also how to improve and grow together.
Additional Information
I am based in Cornwall, but I see clients from all across the UK and Northern Ireland. This is one of the benefits of online counselling; you can find a suitable therapist for what you need, not just one that happens to work nearby, which is not always the right match for the qualifications and skills you need.

Initial Consultation
In my initial consultation I make sure you are comfortable using the technology (which is all very simple these days). I ask you about you, your situation and what you would like help with. I also ask what help you've had before (if any), to get an idea of what helped and didn't help and what you'd like to do differently or the same this time. You are welcome to ask any questions you have, not only in this initial session, but throughout our work together.
Fees
£60 per session, paid by bank transfer in advance of the session.
Some people set this up as a standing order to be done automatically, and others pay each week; I don't mind which you do.
When I Work
I am available Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm, and on Saturdays by pre-arrangement only. During your initial session we will discuss what days and times suit you best. You can have the same day/time each week, or choose different days/times to suit you. The flexibility of online working is one of its great advantages.
